A homage to Barbara Hepworth’s series of Mother and child, the Gaia series of sculptures are a reflection on the interdependency of a mother and child. The hollow steel welded cubes, held together as one through magnetism that imply the intensity and nurturing capacity of the maternal bond. Yet the space between them allows for separation:  the mother and child are of one flesh and at the same time, each an independent individual
